about us

This project was born of the desire to discover and embrace the deepest, most emotional, and most human parts of ourselves. It’s not about the product itself, but what it symbolizes.

Two sisters embarked on this project together. Our names are Blanca and María.

We grew up in Barcelona, and have always been incredibly close. Even though I now live in Los Angeles and Blanca has stayed in our home city, the distance between us is only physical. We created Honnest because we wanted our shared passion for jewelry to continue to bring us together across the Atlantic.

After a year and a half in the United States, Honnest was beginning to come to life. In 2018 I left behind my home, friends, family, and job to support my husband as he took a big step to develop his career. And for the first time in my life, I just stopped. I stopped everything. At first, it felt like an adventure. But the excitement turned into fear, of not having a routine, of not having defined start and end dates, of not knowing.

I began to notice how many things I had taken for granted because I just assumed they would always be there. I, like so many others, had lost sight of what I valued most. I realized how little I really knew about myself. I didn’t know what truly moved me and what meaning to my life. I didn’t know who I was or who I want to be.

Instead of scrambling for new ways to fill my time, I decided to use this pause to discover the parts of myself I had lost touch with. I reflected on what made me feel good, and what truly fulfilled me. With some help from a coach, I went inward and explored meditation, yoga and reading, and holistic nutrition. I stopped looking for a peak to reach; deepening these practices became my goal. This has been the most rewarding journey of my life.

While I worked through my own self-discovery, my sister Blanca also went through a monumental life change: she became a mother. The birth of her son reshaped her life, putting him above all else. Blanca knew that part of being an amazing mother was never losing sight of herself and her purpose. She knew that because the moments she could dedicate to herself were so few and so precious, she had to make the most of them. She had to find ways to remind herself to refocus on her purpose.

During one of our transatlantic phone calls we realized that even though our lives seemed drastically different, there was one thing that would always remain true. We would always strive for a deeper connection with ourselves, with each other, and with our community.

Honnest is not meant to be fancy. It’s not about status, but rather the expression of love towards ourselves and those around us. Honnest is an opportunity to renew our focus on happiness, harmony, and meaningful relationships. It’s about nurturing the love within us so it can ripple into our communities.

Honnest represents new challenges.

Honnest has grown, and will always continue to grow with us.

Our family is growing too. Blanca now is a mother of two and so am I.
